At JBC Machine, we firmly believe that helping to train and educate the next generation of machinists is vital not only to the success of our business, but to the success of our industry. That’s why we created our own apprenticeship program, which has been a great success for the last two decades.

Over the years, six people have completed our apprenticeship program, and a seventh is currently enrolled. We are proud to report that five of our six program graduates are still with us today—many of them in management roles.

Our first apprentice, Jason Leist, graduated from the program in 1999. He has been with us for 28 years, and is now our vice president. Aaron Harvey, our second apprentice, graduated in 2001 and is now the owner and president of JBC. Our third apprentice, Nick Everson, graduated in 2003 and is now the shop foreman. Our latest graduate, Ty Dreier, who completed the program in 2021, is currently our second shift lead man. Our graduates’ achievements are a testament to the power of education and training in the CNC machining industry.

Recently, JBC partnered with the GPS EDUCATION PARTNERS, INC. to start a youth apprenticeship program. Our first youth apprentice began the program just a few weeks ago. A junior in high school, he attends his classes at the GPS education center in the mornings and works with us in the afternoons. When he graduates, he will receive diplomas from both GPS and his home high school. The credits he earns during his youth apprenticeship will count towards a state apprenticeship, should he decide to enroll in one in the future.

We at JBC look forward to teaching and guiding new machinists for many years to come. To learn more about our apprenticeship program, or our myriad CNC machine services, contact JBC Machine today. Reach us at (920) 779-4075 or send an email to sales@jbcmachine.com.
