ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D Certification Explained
At JBC Machine, we want our customers to trust that we will always provide CNC machine services of the highest quality. One way we demonstrate our reliability is by maintaining our ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D Certifications.
What is ISO 9001:2015?
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) was founded in Switzerland in 1947 as part of an effort to establish international manufacturing standards. In the seventy plus years since it was established, ISO has grown into a massive worldwide organization with published standards in a vast array of fields.
ISO 9001:2015 is a quality management system standard applicable to organizations of all types and sizes. It sets standard requirements for management processes and procedures, which a company must meet in order to become certified. When you choose to work with an ISO 9001:2015 certified company like JBC Machine, you can expect excellence.
What is AS9100D?
AS9100 is a standardized quality management system specific to the aerospace industry. It was first created in 1999 by the Society of Automotive Engineers to address certain industry specific requirements that were not included in the ISO 9001. The AS9100 incorporates all of the standards set in the ISO 9001, and adds additional standards relevant to the aerospace industry. The AS9100D is the most recent revision, which was updated to reflect the changes made in the ISO 9001: 2015.
As a company that frequently machines components for the aerospace industry, it’s important for JBC to be AS9100D certified. We diligently maintain our certification so that our customers can rest easy knowing our components meet all of the quality and safety standards of the industry.
