JBC Machine, Inc. is a family-owned business started in 1985 by John Harvey. Originally, the company included just one employee and one manual lathe in a rented garage space before becoming the first business to locate in the Hortonville Industrial Park in 1991. In 1998, JBC Machine incorporated and doubled the size of its facility, and again increased the size of its facility in 2007. In May of 2013, JBC added a second shift which currently employs eight machinists. In 2018, JBC expanded yet again adding more shop space as well as additional offices to accommodate further growth. With each addition, JBC added more equipment and employees.
In January of 2019 after a ten-year buyout, Aaron Harvey (John’s son) became President of JBC and took full ownership of the company. Aaron started at JBC in 1997 right out of high school. He went on to become our second apprentice to graduate our apprenticeship program through Fox Valley Technical College. He learned to program and run every machine in the shop over the next 12 years before starting to transition into the office where he learned the business operations of the company. John retired in June of 2019 and is enjoying his hobbies which include barrel racing and skiing. Today JBC features thirty-one employees including nineteen machinists on the shop floor and continues to invest in new equipment and training.
At JBC our dedicated employees are a source of pride. Seven of our machinists are journeymen machinists, and several have been employed by us for over twenty-five years. JBC Machine is committed to continuing education and training for our employees. As of 2023, we have graduated seven employees through the apprenticeship program with Fox Valley Technical College, making them journeyman machinists. We have also recently partnered with GPS Education Partners, Inc. to start a youth apprenticeship program here at JBC. In addition, we constantly cross train every employee to ensure no matter who machines your parts, we will produce the same quality results that we are known for every time. We firmly believe that training the next generation of machinists is critical to the success of not only our business, but also our industry.
Continually investing in the latest software developments, state-of-the-art machine tools and technology is always a high priority for JBC, allowing us to maintain a competitive edge in the industry. This combination of experience, knowledge, training and innovation allows us to provide the best solution for our clients no matter the scope of the project.
